Ok, I never thought I would be one to say that making your own dishcloths was the way to go, BUTTTTTTTTTT, making your own dishcloths is the way to go!!! I mean seriously, you can have all sorts of funky colours, do different patterns and they are excellent for getting those pots and pans spick and span!!! Make 1, make 20 they are soooooooo easy!!!!!! Use them on the dishes for a week or so then in the washing machine they go and WHAM! They are ready to use again, and again, and again!
There is plenty of dishcloth patterns out there, but today I am sharing my pattern, it is super super simple and no real crochet talent is really needed, like seriously if you make a mistake who cares you are going to be scrubbing dirty dishes with it after all!!!!! Now before I get started I know that depending on whether you are in the Eastern or Western Hemisphere will depend on what terms you use. I am just going with what I use (US version I think?). Got it? Right lets just started!
SUPPLIES
4ply cotton (I used the $2.50 balls from hot dollar)
3.5mm crochet hook
needle to sew ends in
Stitch Abbreviations
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
sc – single crochet
Pattern
1. Chain 31
2. 1sc into 2nd ch from hook, 1sc into each ch to end (30sc). Turn
3. Ch3, 1 dc into each sc till end (30dc). Turn
4. Repeat step 3 (1dc into each dc), 14 more times. (15 row of dc in total)
5. Ch1, 1sc into each dc till end of row. Fasten off, sew in ends.
Of course I didn’t stop at just one! I made pretty pairs!!! Now, time to get crocheting I promise these take no time at all!!!!! Hey, they may even make it into a few gift bags!!!!
